Start day one

Seven field notes

Keep it to one faithful response.

Each day is designed for about three to five minutes: receive the word, pray honestly, take one observable response, and close without self-judgment.

  1. Day 01 · 3–5 minutes

    Receive the morning

    Scripture · Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV)

“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

    Prayer / reflection

Begin without proving anything. God’s mercy is already present before today’s effort begins; ask for a willing heart, not a perfect performance.

    Faithful response

Today, step outside for two quiet minutes and thank God for one mercy already given.

    Optional evening examen

    Where did I notice mercy?

  2. Day 02 · 3–5 minutes

    Bring the honest weight

    Scripture · Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

    Prayer / reflection

Prayer can begin with plain truth. Bring the real weight to Christ without pretending it is lighter than it is.

    Faithful response

Today, send one honest message asking a trusted person to pray for a specific ordinary need.

    Optional evening examen

What did I stop carrying alone today?

  3. Day 03 · 3–5 minutes

    Make room for the word

    Scripture · Psalm 119:105 (KJV)

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

    Prayer / reflection

Scripture often gives the next step before it gives the whole map. Receive enough light for today.

    Faithful response

Today, turn off your phone for 20 minutes and read one chapter of Scripture slowly.

    Optional evening examen

What next step did God’s word make clearer?

  4. Day 04 · 3–5 minutes

    Walk the small good

    Scripture · Micah 6:8 (KJV)

“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

    Prayer / reflection

Faithfulness is not a dramatic identity to defend. It is a humble way of walking with God in the ordinary work before you.

    Faithful response

Today, keep the training appointment or work commitment you have already made, with a quiet and willing spirit.

    Optional evening examen

Where did humility make room for love today?

  5. Day 05 · 3–5 minutes

    Attend to the work

    Scripture · Colossians 3:23 (KJV)

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”

    Prayer / reflection

The unnoticed task can be received as service to God. Let this be an offering of attention, not a bid for approval.

    Faithful response

Today, prepare one simple meal at home with care and give thanks before you eat.

    Optional evening examen

What ordinary work did I offer to God today?

  6. Day 06 · 3–5 minutes

    Carry a little together

    Scripture · Galatians 6:2 (KJV)

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”

    Prayer / reflection

Grace makes room to notice another person. You do not need to solve a life to offer a small faithful presence.

    Faithful response

Today, send one specific encouragement to someone who may need to know they are remembered.

    Optional evening examen

Whose burden did I notice with care today?

  7. Day 07 · 3–5 minutes

    Entrust the next step

    Scripture · Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

“He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

    Prayer / reflection

The work of God in you is not held together by one impressive week. Entrust what is unfinished to the One who is faithful.

    Faithful response

Today, write down one faithful next step for tomorrow and place it where you will see it in the morning.

    Optional evening examen

What unfinished part of my life can I entrust to God tonight?
